The STIHL MS 500i is a professional chainsaw with electronically controlled STIHL Injection fuel injection for demanding timber harvesting. Its 79.2 cm³ engine delivers 5.0 kW.
Guide bar and chain are not included. Supplied with a combination wrench and Estonian instruction manual.
Equipment includes an HD2 filter, adjustable oil pump, ElastoStart starter handle, decompression valve, manual fuel pump, tool-free tank caps, quick-release engine cover and captive sprocket-cover nuts.
Cutting attachment options sold separately:
• LIGHT 04 guide bar, 40 cm, 3/8″ pitch, 1.6 mm gauge, with a 60-drive-link RMC3 or RAPID HEXA RH chain;
• ES Light guide bar, 50 cm, 3/8″ pitch, 1.6 mm gauge, with a 72-drive-link RAPID HEXA RH chain.
Select other sizes according to the saw’s manual. FORESTPLUS and BIOPLUS chain oils, HP Super and HP ULTRA two-stroke oils and an MS 500i service kit are available separately.

Maintenance
The HD2 filter is removable without tools. Its PET material repels water and oil and is easy to clean. STIHL Injection electronically controls fuel injection to suit operating conditions.
For mixing fuel, use quality STIHL two-stroke oil or oil meeting JASO FB, FC, FD or ISO-L-EGB, EGC, EGD specifications, in accordance with the manual. STIHL recommends HP Ultra or an equivalent high-performance oil to maintain emissions compliance over the engine’s service life.
