The STIHL MS 291 is an all-purpose 2-MIX petrol chainsaw for cutting firewood, agricultural work, gardening and grounds maintenance. Air pre-separation reduces filter contamination. Tool-free tank caps and an engine cover with three fasteners simplify servicing. Chain tension is adjusted from the side.
Supplied with:
• LIGHT 04 guide bar, 40 cm, .325″ pitch, 1.3 mm gauge;
• .325″ RM PRO chain, 1.3 mm, 67 drive links;
• combination wrench;
• Estonian instruction manual.
RS PRO and RD3 PRO chains with .325″ pitch, 1.3 mm gauge and 67 drive links are available separately. FORESTPLUS or BIOPLUS chain oils and HP Super or HP ULTRA two-stroke oils are suitable maintenance consumables. An MS 291 2-MIX service kit is also available.

The 2-MIX engine’s four-channel technology supports efficient combustion. The Ematic system with Oilomatic chain supplies oil to the bar and chain, while the anti-vibration system reduces handle vibration. The lightweight LIGHT 04 bar is paired with a PRO-series chain.
